Meet the director
Kevin Spilling
Director of Bands
Mr. Spilling is a Graduate of Jacksonville University. He received his Bachelors in Music Education in 2016. During his time at Jacksonville University, he performed with the JU Wind Ensemble (clarinet and principle alto saxophone), Percussion ensemble, and conducted one of the JU Chamber groups.
Mr. Spilling is a St. Augustine native and attended Pedro Menendez High School. During his time at PMHS, he was selected to perform with the U.S. Army field band, lead the PMHS Falcon Regiment as Drum Major, and was part of the medical academy. After high school, Mr. Spilling went on to study at St. Johns River State College and Florida State College at Jacksonville which is where he earned his AS degree with music education as the focus.
While in college Mr. Spilling marched mellophone with the Sun Devils Drum and Bugle Corps and was the Assistant Director for the Pedro Menendez High School Falcon Regiment. During his time as assistant director, he wrote the drill and designed the visual program for the PMHS Indoor Winds Ensemble who won 1st place in Scholastic Winds A and placed 2nd overall among all the divisions.
Mr. Spilling currently lives in St. Augustine with his wife Gina, his two children, Brandon and Leo, and two cats, Maxwell and Chloe. Some of his hobbies include going on adventures with his family, playing soccer, video games, and of course, music!
